Colonial Revival … Revived … Again!
Summit, NJ
When this home changed hands shortly after we finished, the next owners embraced what already worked—inviting us back to thoughtfully recreate much of the original first-floor design. Using the same foundational furnishings, we made subtle shifts in color and fabric to tailor the spaces to a new point of view, proving that great design can be both personal and transferable.
From there, the project expanded into a full transformation of the primary suite. A secondary staircase was closed, multiple rooms were combined, and square footage was reallocated with purpose—including the quiet expansion of a once-overlooked powder room tucked beneath the stairs. Natural materials guided every decision. In the primary bath, nine slabs of Breccia Capraia marble were meticulously wrapped through a sculptural wet room and custom casings, while a hammered-copper soaking tub adds warmth and glimmer. Upstairs, the bedroom is enveloped in a richly toned green wood veneer—bold, immersive, and unmistakably memorable. The result is a home reimagined once more, honoring its past while confidently evolving forward.
